Today has, once again, been a remarkable day. It's been the same story ever since I met Grey Hoof all those years ago. Every morning I wake up, happy as can be. I buy some food for us to eat, I relax in the gardens in the meadow at the edge of the village and get some quiet reading done while Grey Hoof works before coming home, preparing a meal for the two of us and spending the night outside, watching the stars. Some might consider this to be boring, certainly, but I don't require much entertainment, and the overwhelming happiness I feel whenever I spend time with my beloved is more than enough to counter the monotony of my days. I have been working hard at the local store for many weeks now, so the break is, I feel, well deserved.

When Grey Hoof came home yesterday he seemed very strange. He acted very distant and distracted, as if constantly preoccupied by a day dream.
He was back to normal the next day, and spoke to me with the usual warm, welcoming tone I've grown accustomed to over the last few days. I started the day in a relatively good mood, all things considered. I made breakfast for the two of us before sitting down to enjoy it with him. It was nothing fancy, but it was still pleasant.
My positive mood only increased as the day wore on, until he asked me about the house. That was a few hours ago. He told me he wanted to see it. Grey Hoof said if he saw it he might be able to shed some light on the events I'd witnessed. As unnerving as the idea of visiting that building again is, the thought of having everything explained to me was too tempting to pass up. I agreed to show him to the house.
